GOAL: To reduce drinking and driving among teenagers and heighten their awareness of the potential consequences of high-risk behaviour.

To reduce alcohol and risk related trauma in youth.

WHAT DO WE DO?: The London Board of Education and compliment the London Police in-school drug and alcohol awareness program (DAP) by permitting the students to witness first-hand the tragic results of drinking and driving--for themselves, their friends and family.

Students see and experience for themselves the reality of drinking and driving--by spending time in the London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Campus Emergency Department and Critical Care Trauma Centre.

In addition to bi-weekly IMPACT sessions at the hospital, program volunteers are available to present at school assemblies and education conferences upon request.

LOGISTICS: Programs are held every two weeks on Wednesday mornings and last for three hours.

Each tour accommodates twenty-one Grade 11 students from one of the eighteen high schools in the City of London.
